Elizabeth II in danger? A person armed with a crossbow breaks into Windsor to assassinate the Queen.

A man armed with a crossbow was arrested this Saturday, December 25, as he tried to enter the grounds of Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II was celebrating Christmas. This information has made the rounds of the British media, leaving doubts about the safety of the 95-year-old sovereign.

The individual in question, a 19-year-old from Southampton, was seen climbing the wall and then running into the gardens. Immediately, Thames Valley Police responded to arrest the intruder who was unable to reach the buildings. He was taken to Maidenhead Police Station where he was questioned and taken into custody.

A source said, Security controllers monitoring the video surveillance could not believe their eyes when they spotted the man carrying what appeared to be a crossbow and immediately sent armed police to the scene as a high-level emergency. A full-scale protection plan was executed to ensure the queen's safety, the source said.

According to some British media the man acted with the intention to assassinate the queen in revenge for the Amritsa massacre occurred on April 13, 1919 after three days of deadly violence by British troops against protesters in India. At least that's what the suspect reportedly said in a video sent to friends on his Snapchat account minutes before his attempted break-in. The Sun published footage of the video, in which there are apparent references to the wise Star Wars. In a black hoodie and white mask, he introduces himself as a Sikh Indian, handles the crossbow and says, I'm sorry for what I've done and what I'm going to do. I will attempt to assassinate Queen Elizabeth.

Attempts to break into Windsor and Buckingham Palace, the Queen's residence in the heart of London, are not exceptional. The most spectacular one dates back to 1982, when a thirty year old man, Michael Fagan, managed to break into the Queen's bedroom while she was in bed.
