Happy date, this Thursday, December 9, 2021, for Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. The wife of King Willem-Alexander took part in a Christmas concert, before time. As every year, she mingled with small school children musicians. They were the largest school group in the Netherlands and performed for the recording of Muziekgala, which will be broadcast on Dutch television on Wednesday 15 December.
This annual concert is part of Méér Muziek in de Klas (meaning more music in the classroom). This music education program, of which Queen Maxima is honorary president, aims to give the approximately 1.6 million Dutch children in primary school a structured, quality music education. Music lays the structural foundations for empathy, social ties, quality of life, creativity, mutual listening and openness to differences: human values that are indispensable in our society, explains the eponymous foundation on its website.
For this festive moment that took place this year in Apeldoorn, the mother of princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane had chosen to wear a new dress, signed by the Belgian fashion house Natan. Reaching her ankles, this one, in nude icy silk -the color of her cape, her pumps, her clutch and her mask- is embroidered with white and brown sequins, forming a grid.
