Economic mission in the United States: Princess Astrid celebrated her 60th birthday on a mission in Atlanta

The princess leads a delegation of half a thousand people on an economic mission to the United States.

This Sunday officially marked the start of one of the biggest economic missions organized by Belgium. On the menu: a week in Uncle Sam's country, with three cities on the program: Atlanta, New York and Boston.

But in addition to the purely business aspect, this Sunday, June 5, also marked a special moment for Princess Astrid.

She was celebrating her 60th birthday. This was an opportunity for the woman who leads the economic missions to get a little attention from the four ministers present in Atlanta.

So, on the Rooftoop of the 5th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in Martin Luther King's city, Astrid received a cake... which she then cut for each minister. Ministers - David Clarinval, Willy Borsus, Jan Jambon and Pascal Smet - who then gave her a joint gift.

Her husband, Prince Lorenz, was also present.

It was a set of trays made by a Belgian company (Etnicraft) but created by a local designer.

What to delight the princess who then tasted her piece of cake in a relaxed atmosphere. A rather nice beginning of mission, then, while the rest of the program looks particularly busy.
